Our premium 5-frame deep nucleus hives offer everyone the best chances of raising their own colonies successfully. We raise our nucs in 6-frame hives so your nuc will be of the highest quality once they are installed into the 5-frame transportable box.

The 5-frame nucleus hives consist of:

- 5 x drawn deep frames of quality bees (approx. 4000+bees)

- 3-4 x frames of brood

- 1-2 x frames of honey/pollen

- Young mated and marked Italian/Carniolan queen

- Supplied in transportable 5-frame corflute nucleus box for you to keep.

With the 5-frame premium nucelus hive we suggest that you give them a full season to build up and produce enough stores to get them through the long Tasmanian winters once they are transferred into their new full-size hives.
 

Once you get your bees, we recommend you take them home and place them into position before opening the entrance to let the bees orientate and relax. It's best to leave the bees for a day then it’s a much easier process to transfer them into the bigger hive. It is less stressful for you and the bees.

 

Nuc hives will be limited for the 2023-24 season, so PRE ORDER NOW to secure yours early. A $150 DEPOSIT is required for pre-orders, and FULL PAYMENT is required upon pick-up. 

The pre-order will become available early september 2023.

Hives will become available for collection from November 2023 onwards (weather dependent).

 

Please note nuc hives are for collection ONLY, and either early morning or early evening by prior arrangement.

 

Delivery and installation to residents in Southern Tasmania is available by prior negotiation.
