Piece of natural Honeycomb in a frame

Our Honey

Foraged from Tasmania's pristine forests, Sherwood Hill Honey produces some of the finest honey. We have the cleanest air in the world, our forests are wild and abundant, and our bees are in their element - they're free to do what they do best. This is why we believe our honey is one of the most sought-after honeys in the world. It's more than just 'liquid gold', it's BETTER. All the nutritional and medicinal benefits of honey are present in our unadulterated honey. Providing high-quality products is our top priority, which is why our honey is raw, cold-extracted, and 100% pure. You get it straight from the beehives. Presented in quality Australian glass jars, each jar is packed with goodness. As a result of our natural extraction and processing method, our honey may crystallize, but this is a sign that our product is pure and raw.

Key features of our honey:

Pollen: Also known as bee superfood, is a nutrient-dense mixture of flower pollen, nectar, honey, and beeswax and is packed with enzymes.

Propolis: Known as "bee glue", or  tree resin, propolis acts like putty within the hive. It is reported to have antibacterial, antiviral, antifungal, and antiseptic properties.

Health Benefits: As the bees travel from plant to plant, they pick up trace elements. Honey is antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, and anti-allergic. The composition of honey is rich: it contains sugars, minerals, trace elements, vitamins, enzymes, and biologically active substances.

Tasmanian Leatherwood

For a short period of the Tasmanian summer the Eucryphia Lucida aka Leatherwood, produces an abundance of beautiful white flowers. Our bees forage these flowers to produce a unique wild honey sourced from remote rainforests in the Tasmanian wilderness.

This endemic honey with a full-bodied spicy flavour and scent has won many honey awards around the world. It has also been scientifically proven that Leatherwood honey is also shown to contain high levels of antioxidants and is a significant source of probiotics.

Tasmanian Manuka

Our bees forage for nectar from the Tasmanian tea-tree, Leptospermum Scoparium, in wild native forests. This plant is well known for its antimicrobial, anti-fungal and anti-inflammatory properties. Among these properties is methylglyoxal (MGO), a substance naturally occurring in tea-tree honey. All our manuka honey is independently tested at the University of Sunshine Coast for MGO content.
