After packing up their belongings in North Queensland, Bear and Nettie moved their young family to Tasmania's Huon Valley. As a family, they saw it as an opportunity to cultivate shared visions of self-sufficiency and to sink their roots deep into the soil. After purchasing their first two hives for pollination, Bear fell in love with bees and beekeeping almost immediately. Within a year, he raised queens, mated them, and created new hives. After turning his passion for beekeeping into a side gig, Bear and Nettie founded Sherwood Hill Honey. In addition to producing honey, we rear queens, provide nucs and hives to our customers, and mentor new beekeepers. We are passionate about getting people interested in bees and beekeeping, and for good reason. Our small batch honey reflects the pristine Tasmanian landscape and stays true to its pure and raw nature.
